Brandon Blackstock Obituary:Talent Manager and Former Husband of Kelly Clarkson, Dies at 48

LOS ANGELES — Brandon Blackstock, a respected talent manager and the former husband of Grammy-winning singer Kelly Clarkson, has died at the age of 48 following a valiant three-year fight against cancer.

Blackstock, whose career spanned decades in the entertainment industry, was known for his work representing top country artists, including Blake Shelton and Rascal Flatts. His ability to navigate the often-challenging world of music management earned him both professional respect and personal admiration from colleagues and clients alike.

Born into a musical family — the son of music manager Narvel Blackstock and stepson of country star Reba McEntire — Brandon grew up immersed in the industry he would later help shape. His passion for the business was matched only by his dedication to the artists he represented.

Blackstock married Kelly Clarkson in 2013, and the pair welcomed two children during their seven-year marriage before divorcing in 2020. Despite the challenges that followed, the two shared a commitment to co-parenting and maintaining stability for their children.

Friends and family described Blackstock as a devoted father, a sharp business mind, and a man who faced his illness with quiet strength and dignity. “Brandon was a fighter until the very end,” one family friend shared. “His courage inspired everyone who knew him.”

Funeral arrangements have not yet been announced. The family has asked for privacy as they grieve the loss of a beloved father, son, and friend.
